MEDICAL ADVICE
UAE CLIMATE
It is essential that you are aware of the weather conditions during the race. It is expected to be hot with very little, if any, shade. We will have ambulances on standby throughout the duration of the race, but you must take care to race sensibly in such conditions. If you start to get headaches, feel dizzy and nauseous then you may be suffering from heat exhaustion and need to seek medical advice. Listen to your body. Talk to the nearest volunteer who will be able to help you get attention. The common symptoms of heat exhaustion include confusion, muscle cramps, heavy sweating, headaches, nausea/vomiting and dizziness. If you become aware of these symptoms, then seek medical help immediately.
SUFFICIENT HYDRATION
Please stay hydrated and drink plenty of fluids in the days leading up to the race and remember
to continue to take on fluids on the morning before the race start. During the run try to take on board about 500ml of fluids per hour. There will be water available from aid stations but please make sure you drink sufficient fluids before starting the race
SUN LOTION
Please make sure to protect yourself from the sun.

Race Morning
Please come to the race with your race number and knowledge of the event, it is very important to have seen the race briefings online in person or recorded after the fact as any changes will be communicated to you here. Not all races are the same as the previous year and to avoid disappointment or disqualification please make sure you adhere to the rules of the event.
Race Briefings are generally applicable to multisport events. We aim to post the race briefing on thursday before the event.
This information and invitation link will be emailed to you the Monday before the event. This is our opportunity to share with you any changes and important race information to you that may have arisen, or we feel is important to the safety of the event or your race. This is also your chance to ask any question about the race to us!
RACE NUMBER & TIMINGS CHIP
A bib with your race number and timing chip on the reverse must be clearly visible on your front for the duration of the race. Please use an elastic race belt or safety pins for your race number. Each run will start with a different colour race number. Please make sure the colour of the race bib in your race pack matches the colour shown on the information board. It is compulsory to wear these numbers.
TIMINGS SYSTEM
Timing antennas will be positioned at the turn around points and at the finish line. We’ll endeavour to provide you with all your timing splits, but this is not guaranteed. Very occasionally, a timing chip may not be read, or a timing antenna may fail and timing splits may not be available.
You must pass all timing points with a valid chip read. No chip read could result in your disqualification or request for a supporting GPS route from a certified watch brand. You’ll receive a total finish time providing we can see your race number when you cross the finish line. If you withdraw during the event, please make sure you return your timing chip, otherwise, we will think you are still out there racing! Please note that start time is a chip start rather than a gun / wave start, i.e. your time starts when crossing the start line antennas.
